Patrick Square Porch Conversion

The homeowners loved their covered porch, but it had one big problem — it was only large enough for about four people to sit comfortably. For this homeowner who enjoys hosting family and friends, that just wasn't going to work. They came to us with a vision: turn that small open porch into a true three seasons room where everyone could gather, no matter the weather. We started by enlarging the footprint and adding additional deck support to handle the expanded space. The old decking was removed and replaced with Trex composite decking with a double border for long-lasting durability and low maintenance. A new roof was framed and topped with standing seam metal roofing, giving the room a clean, modern look that ties into the home's architecture. Floor-to-ceiling windows now wrap the space, filling it with natural light and framing the beautiful tree-lined views. Inside, we installed a gas fireplace with a custom-designed white oak mantle that wraps on three sides — a real centerpiece for the room. A low-profile mini-split keeps the space comfortable from early spring through late fall. With fresh paint and trim work throughout, the finished room comfortably seats nine and has quickly become the homeowners' favorite place to entertain.
